Hi there, i need help to fix a Satellite Positioner called Gaintech model JP8000 the error appears when i try to push the right or the left button to move the Dish east or west i get n5 in the screen positioner btw i can move the motor if i click or press thre right and left keys one by one but i cant move it if i keep pressing and i get n5 as a result of an error. As you can see i dont know anything about Satellite Positioner so a block diagram will be helpful or service manual for Gaintech model JP8000 Thanks in advance. The thing to check is that if you are getting pulses fed from the motor to the positioner. Theory is: You set a start point. It is usually an east or a west limit point. That is your zero start point for the positioners counter. Advancing then from east to west for instance, the motor will produce say 100 pulses per inch of movement.

If no pulses are fed to the positioner, it assumes it has reached one of the limits, so that is probably your error. Check for wiring.extra 2 wires from the actuator to the positioner. Check the sensor on the actuator, usually 2 types are used, the hall or reel.
