Interesting thread. Somebody jump in here. I am out on a limb. (but that has never stopped me before) So. I would imagine that most difficult problem with such software is that (for DVDs) it would have to be done either a) in the application or b) in directX. This is true because most programs feed the overlay (which is a different beast than the desktop).
With that said, it might be possible for DScaler to do such a thing. The interesting possibility there is that such a project could (I stress could) be very similar to another requested feature, non-linear stretch.
If you could convince the DScaler team to take one on, the other might be a lot easier. However, I could be COMPLETELY wrong here.

Also I have seen, that the framerate goes down, if I use IRKeystone3 - from 80 to 50FPS (tested with one layer/animation). Is this correct?
